Amanda is a voice teacher and classically trained mezzo soprano and musical theater singer. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from George Mason University and her Masters of Music degree in Vocal Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory. In her early training, she sang mostly church music as well as musical theater, but fell in love with opera and classical singing at George Mason. Amanda has performed in numerous operas, including the title role of Hänsel in Humperdink’s Hänsel and Gretel and First Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.  She also performed in musical theater reviews and jazz ensembles at Mason along with opera. Amanda enjoyed the opportunity to perform abroad and choreographed for a production of La Traviata in Italy for the La Musica Lirica Summer Program.

Though she enjoys performing, Amanda is a teacher at heart. She has been giving private voice lessons for years and has taught for such schools as the Potomac Arts Academy in Fairfax, Virginia and the Boston Arts Academy in Boston, Massachusetts. She has recently completed a Masters of Music in Vocal Pedagogy at the Boston Conservatory under the tutelage of Kevin Wilson. Amanda is also the vocal coach for Boston City Singers’ Cantare Singers, a group of students between the ages of ten and fourteen. Amanda enjoys working with singers of all ages and varying interests.
